Learning About Fire Prevention, Causes and Educating Kids

We all live our lives day to day thinking that nothing bad will happen. We never think that we will be the ones dealing with the cleanup of a house fire. Unfortunately, there are many, many families that suffer the impact of house fires each year. Last year, a close friend of mine was a victim of a house fire and since then, my life has been different. I have spent many hours researching fire prevention, causes, and teaching children about fire prevention and what to do in the case of a fire. It is my hope that my research can help those of you concerned about house fires make the necessary changes in your home and teach your kids what they need to know about fire.

Five Energy-Efficient Features That A Top-Load Washing Machine Provides

by Pedro Taylor

If you are in the market to purchase a new washing machine, you should consider purchasing a top-loading washing machine. There have been significant advances in top-loaders over the years. If you are interested in this type of configuration, you will want to look for a unit with energy-efficient features.

Large Loads

One of the most significant advantages of a front-loading machine over a top-loading machine is that you can wash larger loads of clothing in the unit. Without a center post inside of the unit, more clothing can fit into a front-loading machine than a top-loading machine. It can hold more pounds of laundry, which is great if you like to wash big loads or if you like to wash large items, such as bedding.

Easy Access

One advantage of a top-loading machine is that you can add items to the load after starting it. As the water sits on the bottom of the machine, you can easily open the lid and drop in that sock that fell when you put in the load or that towel you just spied sitting on the counter. You can't add items to a front-load machine once it starts without risking water spilling out of the machine and getting everywhere.

Quicker Cleaning Times

Third, a top-loading machine can provide you with quicker washing times over a front-loading washing machine. A few minutes here and there may not seem like that much, but it can really add up over the course of a week or a month as you wash multiple loads. You will spend less time washing your clothing with a top-loading machine.

Less Water Usage

Old school top-loading machines used a lot of water. However, newer models are designed to use a fraction of that water. The machine is made to measure the weight of the load to determine how much water is needed to wash the clothing. The water is then added to the machine in a precise manner during the washing and rinsing cycle.

Great Water Extraction

Finally, new top-loading washing machines can remove almost all of the water used during the washing and rinsing process. It uses high-velocity spin cycles to remove water from the clothing, making it easier and quicker to dry your clothing.

A top-loading washing machine offers quick cleaning times, uses less water, and offers excellent water extractions. They also provide easy access, allowing you to add clothing to the load, and they operate quietly. If you need a new washing machine, you should consider purchasing a top-loading washer instead of a front-loader.
